After 'Tamanna Ka Chhatta Qadam' two years ago, KaraFilm Festival has managed to swing back into the seventh year of action with 'Satrangi Re', this year's theme.

The film festival, stationed in Karachi and generating positive news regarding Pakistan all over the world, suffered the trickle down effect of everything Pakistan underwent in the past two years and consequently could not be put together in 2007 or 2008. But after a two year gap, event organizer and Director, Hasan Zaidi has managed to weld it back into Karachi's landscape. And Kara fans have been riveted.

The festival began on Wednesday with an inauguration ceremony that may not have matched the opening and closing of previous years (which were peppered with a glamorous dose of Bollywood artistes, foreign film makers and even high profile politicians such as General Pervez Musharaf himself) but just the fact that it was happening was encouraging enough. And for putting it all together, managing the funds after sponsors pulled out and finding a way to resuscitate it from the recession of sorts that Pakistan is suffering from, Hasan Zaidi is Instep's hotstepper of the week!
