It's
finally time to shed off those winter layers and embrace spring.
And what better way to do it than filling your wardrobe with the
colour of the year - mimosa - and donning all that it stands for:
bright, cheery optimism! Coldplay waxed lyrical about yellow years
ago, and as spring flutters in heralding a new year, this colour
is the way to go. Its been showing up everywhere from accessories
to the runaways: Michelle Obama wore lemongrass to the US presidential
inauguration, the recent haute couture shows in Paris had an abundance
of yellow (Armani's purple and yellow combination is pictured here),
and one of the most memorable dresses from fashion shows last year
was Maheen Karim's creation in pale yellow (as worn by Nadia Hussain)
It's a colour that can be worn by anyone with flair, provided you
pick the right hue. And if you'd rather not stand out, don yellow
accessories: bags, headbands and even yellow shoes to complement
an outfit.
Yellow has always been a part of our wardrobes: the colour of mayoon
ceremonies and it gets done (and even overdone!) during Basant when
it pops up on everyone. But there's just something about a burst
of yellow that sends one into a great mood - so don this lovely
hue! |
