"I'm listening to a bunch of different music. There is this composer named Danny Elfman I find interesting. I really like one score by him that was in the movie Kingdom- I've been listening to some of his score writing. I'm also listening to a lot of Keziah Jones because I'm into their style of music and what they play, though I can't pin point or pick out a favorite in particular. These days I'm also into a lot of stuff from the early 80s."
Grammy winner Danny Elfman is best known for composing for movies and television (Batman, Desperate Housewives and The Nightmare Before Christmas to name a few.) Raw blues and funk rhymes Nigerian singer Keziah Jones is known for his style of guitar playing.

Anoushey Ashraf VJ

"I've been listening to so many things! I listen to whatever plays on the television. These days, Rohail Hyatt's children have come out with a band called Mole and I have their CD playing in my car all the time- Mole is a lot of digitalized and techno music and they have great stuff. I'm listening to a lot of Urdu and desi music as well; Juggy D and a few other artists flew here for the MTV Awards and I've exploring the UK bhangra kind of music since then."

Mole features Danial Hyatt on lead vocals among a few others. Mole's first EP, We're Always Home, is available for download online. The band is currently working on their debut album.

"I'm listening to Quaid's first speech that he delivered to the nation on the first day of Pakistan because I'm using it for a photo essay called, In the Memory of Prosperity. It's powerful and we all have forgotten what he said. I'm also listening to 'Friday I'm in Love', by The Cure and 'Beautiful Day' (Bonzal Republic vs Trentemoller Vocal Mix) by Laid Back plays on my website, and I can't seem to get bored with it."
Amean's patriotic spirit is definitely admirable. His other picks - 'Friday I'm in Love' is one of The Cure's most fun songs, while Laid Back is best known for hits like 'Sunshine Raggae' and 'White Horse' and though 'Beautiful Day' is not just as catchy, it is a must download for Laid Back fans.

"You know I'm not listening to any current hits or favorites. These days, I'm listening to 'Yeh Hausla Kaise Jhuke' from Dor."
The Indian movie Dor, starring Ayesha Takia, Gul Panag and Shreyas Talpade, is a remake of the award winning Malayam film Perumazhakkalam. The movie was well received by critics, though it didn't really make much of a mark at the box office. 'Yeh Hausla Kaise Jhuke' is a slow and haunting track from Dor and features Shafqat Amanat Ali on vocals.

"I'm listening to a lot of Amy Winehouse and I love 'Valerie'. I'm also listening to Fleetwood Mac- the two songs I really like by this band are 'Landslides' and 'The Chain' in particular. Then there is the music from the seventies like Steely Dan with 'Do It Again' and I'm always listening to Madonna!"
'Landslides' was written by Stevie Nicks and performed by Grammy Award winners Fleetwood Mac. The American jazz-rock band, Steely Dan, produced the hit number 'Do It Again' in 1972 whereas the R&B, soul and jazz singer Amy Winehouse has many hits to her name including 'Valerie', 'Rehab', 'Back to Black', 'Tears Dry On Their Own' and 'In My Bed.'
