Aisha's music doesnot disappoint
By Hafsah Sarfraz

With the release of I Hate Luv Storys and other great movies in the pipeline, Sonam Kapoor is on a roll and guess who decides to cash in on this fame? Daddy darling, Anil Kapoor! Yes, Sonam's upcoming movie is produced by her father and siste, Rhea Kapoor and is called Aisha in which Sonam stars as the lead protagonist with Abhay Deol.
Aisha is an adaptation of Emma, a classic novel by Jane Austin. The plot of Aisha revolves around, as the name suggests, Aisha Kapoor, a 25 year old girl living in Delhi who believes "there is nothing more beautiful than a match well made." Aisha is an artist who loves gardening and is extremely fashionable and has a charming personality. Every guy wants to date her but she hasn't yet found the right match for her because she has no time; she is busy fixing other people's lives.
Aisha lost her mother at a very young age and since her sister is shown married, she is the one who has to handle the house and take care of her father. She thinks she can do everything in the most perfect way and knows the best. Arjun [Abhay Deol] is Aisha's best friend who thinks she should stop interfering in other's lives and mind her own business. Aisha and Arjun share a hostile relationship that totters between slight flirtations and verbal digs at each other. Arjun is shown to be the ideal match for any girl; he is responsible, has a successful career and the kind who will love one woman for the rest of his life. Other phenomenal characters include Aisha's best friend, Shefali, the Delhi boy Randhir and the bad boy, Dhruv. As Aisha gets tangled in the mess caused by these people, Arjun wants her to get out of it. To watch how she'll get out of it is something we will have to wait to watch!
The music of Aisha is done by Amit Trividi [the guy who brought one of last year's biggest albums - Dev D, remember 'Emotional Attyachaar'?]. So yes, there are great expectations and he pretty much meets the expectations too. The album opens with the title track, 'Suno Aisha', a track with beautiful melody. There's something different about this song, you can listen to it again and again. It has a very groovy touch to it.
The second track of the album, 'Gal Mithi Mithi' gives you a dŽjˆ vu feeling of the popular 'Emotional Atyachaar'. Sung by Tochi Raina, it starts with a shehnayee and dhol beats [it is basically today's shaadi song]. 'Gal Mithi Mithi' leaves a great impact the first time you listen to it but just when you think it's a great track, listen to its dhol remix version, which transforms this to a true bhangra dance number. This should be on your mehndi playlist if you have weddings around the corner.
Next comes 'Shaam', which is a soft number, sung by Amit Trividi himself. The track has been made in such a way that neither of the vocals or instruments overpower each other. Even though it's a romantic track, the lyrics aren't too dramatic; instead of bringing Òchaand tarayÓ for your lover, it talks about silence and the beauty it brings along.
'Behke Behke Nain' has a hip hop beat mixed with a great attitude in the vocals and jazzy lyrics but it still fails to do that magic songs like these are supposed to when you listen to them the first time. Also, the English rap added in it makes things worse and could have been easily avoided to give the song a better overall sound. 'Behke Behke' also has a bounce mix which tries to give a new life to the track, but really doesn't help.
'Lehrein' is a beautiful and melodious track which grows on you as you listen to it. Sung by Anusha Mani, it is an extremely soothing song. Anusha, however, is not the only one to take credit, Neuman and Nikhil also add a great layer with their soft chorus. The remix version of 'Lehrein' is also worth a listen.
While 'Lehrein' might remind you of your blues, the next track of the album, 'By The Way', is a track with lots of energy and gives that whole image of girls having great fun. Featured in the first teaser of Aisha, 'By The Way' is the kind of track that will be loved by the youth!
All in all, Aisha's album comprises of some tracks which you will end up humming for the next few weeks, while some you might not want to listen to the second time round! I would suggest, download the best ones, they won't disappoint you!
