While his film might be banned in Pakistan, Ali Zafar has been
unstoppable this month with the release of Tere Bin Laden which
has been received really well by audiences around the world, especially
in Dubai and India. While TBL started off slow in India, a report
on its box office performance claims: ÒTere Bin Laden started
on a 15 per cent to 20 per cent to 25 per cent note in the morning
and noon shows, it picked up during the evening shows, since the
word of mouth is extremely positive.Ó Not just that, but
Bollywood stars such as Salman Khan have called TBL a Òpaisa
vasoolÓ film. While certain critics have slammed it back
here home for no depicting Karachi accurately, the film is doing
well across the border with Karan Johar being very impressed by
Ali Zafar and Shobhaa De raving about the film too. Also, cinema
owners are clamouring for the film to get a Pakistan release.
Success in India is the next step for Pakistani talent and Ali
Zafar has taken it to a whole new level. So hereÕs to Ali
Zafar for playing his cards right and making waves across the
border. Even if Atif follows suit, Ali Zafar will forever be the
boy who blazed the trail. For that alone he is Instep's hotstepper
of the month.
