1. 'Ansoo'
Ali Azmat

Featured as the main soundtrack of television play, Ansoo, this song (also called 'Ansoo') is a departure from the classic rock sound that is synonymous with Ali Azmat. Composed by Waqar Ali, (the brother of Sajjad Ali) it is musically slightly filmy with keyboards used to full effect with a morbid sound but is grabbing nonetheless. With a pessimistic and mournful wordplay that goes, "Chaltay chaltay sochain/Kyun hai duuri/Jaingaye kahan/Khwahish tou na hogi poori/Jaingaye kahan/Sun loo...sun sako tou/Tumko ansoo pukaraye," and a simple melody, it is one of the best drama soundtracks ever done. This song is also a testament to the talent of Ali Azmat and shows that while rock will always remain his edgy musical side, his is a voice that can excel in almost any genre.

2. 'Raat Jagi'
Ganda Banda and 3D Cats

Off their one and to-date only album, 2.5 km Live from the Tower, 'Raat Jagi' is just a very grungy number. Ali Alam shines like a diamond on this number with his vocals bordering on slight aggression and sudden romance. He keeps changing notes, drifting between high and low and complimenting this upbeat melody throughout. Unlike their other famous songs like 'Dhoonda Taroon Mein' and 'Tu Na Ho Meray Pass', 'Raat Jagi' is simply a ball of energy with some exceptional drumming from Ahmed Chagla. And with a romantic yet 'Tere bin yeh dunya jhooti/Yeh wadey jhootey yeh kasamey jhooti/Aas liye betha hoon/Mein teri yaad mein roya hoon/Yeh sapna soch ho ya adhoora ho..." it is superlative. So, download it now.

3. 'Precious'
Depeche Mode

From their 11th studio album, Playing the Angel, 'Precious' is one of Depeche Mode's most memorable, chart-topping numbers to date. It is electronic music at its finest. A very moody track, it has an airy feeling to it. A gentle fragility is palpable in its layered sound and it makes for a fine song. And with vocalist Dave Grahan's powerful yet somber vocals and lyrics that go, "Things get damaged/Things get broken/I thought we'd manage/But words left unspoken/Left us so brittle/There was so little left to give…" it just screams to be played louder and louder every time.
Considered to be one of the pioneers of synth-pop/electronic music with over 91 million record sold worldwide, Depeche Mode is one of those rare bands that has consistently delivered one fantastic album after the other. And just for that, everyone must check this song out!
