If you are a movie buff you’ll know that summer blockbusters will keep you on an adrenaline rush. Theatrics, major movie stars, crazy stunts, explosive action, everything is over the top! Summer films take you into extraordinary worlds; the rode is clear from pretentious movies that come out just before the film awards season, so you’ll know you’ll be indulging in mindless action and endless fun.

This summer, kids flocked to the theatres after their final papers to watch The Avengers which brought together some of the best superheroes, Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Hulk and Black Widow. The Avengers brought together the best superheroes to take on a common enemy and save mankind from their demise.

The superhero action isn’t over yet, The Dark Knight Rises will be premiering worldwide on July 20! The third film in Christopher Nolan’s Batman franchise will wrap up the trilogy. The film takes place eight years after the events of The Dark Knight and introduces the characters of Selina Kyle and Bane. The Dark Knight Rises stars Christian Bale as Batman/ Bruce Wayne, with villains Anne Hathaway as Catwoman/ Selina Kyle and Tom Hardy as Bane and Gotham city police Commissioner Gordon played by Gary Oldman and Joseph Gordon-Levitt who plays a Gotham city cop.

Another highly anticipated film is the sci-fi thriller Prometheus; if comic book heroes aren’t your thing. Prometheus is about a team of explorers discover a clue to the origins of mankind on Earth, leading them on a journey to the darkest corners of the universe. There, they must fight a terrifying battle to save the future of the human race. The film shares the same universe of Ridley Scott’s 1979 science fiction horror film Alien but won’t be a prequel in the way that many films have been portrayed recently. Prometheus stars Michael Fassbender of X-Men: First Class in which he played the character of a young Magneto.
