Saif hospitalized for chest pains

Saif Ali Khan seems to have slight doses of bad luck going hand in hand with his award winning roles. Last year he was operated upon for appendicitis (after recognition for Parineeta) whereas this time he was rushed to the hospital on Sunday after complaining of severe chest pains. He had returned from South Africa that morning, spent the afternoon rehearsing for the Stardust Awards and was heading towards the actual event at the Bandra-Kurla Complex at the time. After being rushed to the hospital, it was suspected that he had undergone a mild heart attack. The hero was to receive an award for Omkara and totally unaware of Khan's ailment, Director of Omkara, Vishal Bharadwaj, joked while receiving the award for Saif saying, "Saif, I know you are always late for shooting, but I didn't know you would be late for an award function as well. Where are you?" Soon news of Saif's emergency spread and several Bollywood stars like Amitabh Bachchan, Sanjay Dutt, who were present at the awards function, along with Fardeen Khan, Preity Zinta,Kunal Kohli
and Jackie Shroff hurried off to the hospital to visit him. After observation in the ICU and an immediate angiography, it was revealed that Saif had an irregular heartbeat but was out of danger. Sharmila Tagore, his mother, spoke to the media saying that she believed he had to stop smoking to avoid future emergencies. "Saif's father has chest pain and his grandfather too suffered from it," she said. "I hope Saif understands the repercussions and takes care now." She added that Saif should not exert so much around his now burgeoning career. With his popularity graph on the constant rise that may be tough, but we do hope Saif recovers back to great health to continue the great work he has been doing.

Shilpa sure is going places

We wouldn't be surprised if Shilpa is offered a British nationality and shifts to England. Her fanfare following the Celebrity Big Brother brouhaha is still on the rise and the amount of interest she's generated in the past month supercedes anything she's ever done in Bollywood. Picture this: Shilpa has been offered to play the lead role of Roxie Hart in the West End musical Chicago and the producers say they are desperate to engage her despite the fact that she cannot sing. She hasn't taken a decision on the matter yet but Shilpa has been taking singing lessons with lead singer-song-writer Jamie Peace, a finalist in the prestigious International Song-writing Competition in the United States for his track 'More Than Enough'. Shilpa, has been jetsetting between London and Mumbai: she participated in a Zee Carnival at Olympia, left for Mumbai on Wednesday night and will return on March 11 to attend Commonwealth Day. There's more. Apparently Princes William and Harry were so impressed with the way she handled things on CBB that they have invited her to attend the Princess Diana Memorial

Concert to be held at Wembley on July 1. She will sit amongst a star studded audience as one of the guests of honour. If that leaves you gaping, then know that Shilpa is also being lined up to become the first ever face on the new Indian version of the fashion magazine, Vogue. So winning Celebrity Big Brother may not be able to revive her filmi career in Bollywood but it seems that Shilpa has better things chalked out for herself.

Is Brangelina in trouble?

The move to New Orleans and the death of Angelina's mother last month (after fighting a battle with ovarian cancer) has proved too much for the beautiful young actor. Reportedly she has become very reclusive, has stopped eating and is also having trouble with her relationship with Brad. Since he has never faced a personal crisis like this, he is reportedly feeling very "shut out" and is unsure about how to handle the situation "though he is trying" quote insiders. Angelina's grief has deepened since moving to New Orleans with her partner Brad Pitt and their three children, Maddox, Zahara and Shiloh. A source told Us Weekly magazine: "She isn't eating. She is very lonely and desperate to make new friends." Amidst this turbulent patch in her life, Angelina and Brad have applied for adoption in Vietnam. If approved, this baby will be the fourth addition to their family and experts believe that the best thing Angelina can do for herself during this trying time is focus on her family. "Children can be such a great source of life and happiness," says psychologist Dr. Irene Kassorla. "Her mother is gone but her memories are not, and nor is the love in Angelina's heart, and this can be enjoyed and shared with her children."
