| Tapu
Javeri |
Fashion
photographer, jeweler, model, artist or the many things that
Tapu does – it isn't what he does that always makes
him the centre of attraction but the way he looks. In fact
at the risk of sounding like sixteen year olds with a crush
on the captain of the cricket team (and we have had all that
and more on Imran Khan), it's Tapu's whole package that makes
him appealing. How many times is it that you have a man who
looks this way along with having grey matter as well as a
sense of humour? And the best thing is that he's only getting
better with age. Tapu is most definitely one of the few men
who are aging as gracefully as Tapu is. Whether he is wearing
a black sherwani, a black dinner jacket or a simple black
shalwar kameez, he turns heads without a miss. But even when
he drives around in his green jeep in his basic uniform: jeans,
t-shirts and that essential back pack that holds his photographic
equipment, Tapu is just as irresistible. When school pictures
of him popped up on Facebook, |

we
had quite the time reliving Tapu's adolescent memories. And we have
to say - this ace photographer has always been gorgeous! With every
passing year, he seems to look even better, and can carry off anything
with effortless grace. In fact Tapu's aging so marvelously that
it makes us want to run out and buy anti-aging creams. |

| Bilal
Maqsood |
There's
a reason why so many girls think of Bilal as the ultimate
pin-up pop idol. He may have been geeky-looking in Strings'
first excursion into the world of music in the early '90s,
but he was a pop idol even then! And with every passing
year, we can't help but gawk at how terrific he looks. Even
John Abraham paled in comparison to Bilal in the videos
for 'Zinda' and 'Koi Aanay Wala Hai' - and that's a big
feat considering he was the item number of Dostana. And
what makes one even greener with envy that he looks great
in real life too - minus the styling and makeup of videos
and TV shoots. Bilal pulls the casual look and the formal
look with equal grace. Whether it is sharp, suave black
suits or plain jeans and tees, he is inherently stylish
and yet manages to exude an intensely intelligent look as
well. |

| Rohail
Hyatt |
Rohail
may not have been the heartthrob of Vital Signs - having been
usurped by Junaid Jamshed - but as he ages he looks even better.
This 40-something, with his leonine mane and eloquent words,
is definitely a pin-up of his own kind. Many women refer to
him as an overgrown teddy bear (an endearment of course) and
one can see why. There is something oddly trusting aroud Rohail
Hyatt and that holds true whether he is mixing sounds at Coke
Studio or philosophizing away at an extremely rare interview
(he hardly ever gives interviews). We think that the fact
that this musical genius is one of the few who don't like
to hear the sound of their own voice, which makes him even
better. |

| Asif
Raza Mir |
Who
can forget Asif Raza Mir from Tanhaiyaan? He was the strong
yet sensitive type who vowed to break Zara (Shehnaz Sheikh)
out of her manic depression. And while he was a true heartthrob
then, now he's a prime example of old-school grace and eloquence.
At his acceptance speech at the Lux Style Awards, we were
reminded of the heyday of Pakistani television and his halcyon
days! He has made his comeback to television after a gap of
twelve years, and even thanked the industry for accepting
him back and for giving him important roles in quality projects.
He also thanked the LSAs for providing a platform to recognize
and appreciate the talent of the entertainment industry.
During a night where there was so much animosity (hello, Shaan
and Iman) Asif's grace stood out! We hope to see more of him
in the years to come! |

| Imran
Khan |
This
list wouldn't be complete without Pakistan's original hero
and international icon Imran Khan. After getting brickbats
from political analysts for not running in the last elections,
he has now regained stature as a political commentator on
TV channels. His principled stand has definitely won him a
fan following again after the shenanigans of the current government.
He is also quoted extensively in the foreign press for his
bold and unique opinions on how the US must deal with the
Pashtuns. From the man in white cricket hero, Imran Khan has
made a smooth transition to the shalwar-kameez-waistcoat wearing
son of the soil. That he is not the conventional Pakistani
politician changing his stand everyday adds to allure.
When integrity goes hand in hand with dignity it amplifies
a personality. |
