FASHION UPDATE
In the summertime
|
| |
If
you've spent the winter huddled in front of a heater, hating
the plethora of layers you have to don and cleaning muddy
boots, rejoice in the spirit of summer. We may hate the electricity
breakdowns and humidity, but hey - its summer! It's the longest
season Pakistan sees and Instep's here to guide you to prepping
up for the balmy days ahead:
In:
Moisturizers and scrubs
Out: Body butter
Stop slathering on that body butter and start hydrating your
skin: moisturizers are a must-have for the summer, as are
fruity scrubs to keep your skin refreshed. You'll be baring
a lot more skin for the summer and its necessary to keep it
looking great, otherwise you can chuck your plans for wearing
sleeveless clothes and cropped pants right about now.

In: Fruity smoothies, cold coffee, fresh juices
and lollies
Out: Hot chocolate and steaming coffee
We can finally stop warming our hands on steaming mugs of coffee
and cocoa and rejoice in the simple pleasure of eating an ice-lolly
instead! Keep yourself in shape and wean off the waistline-enhancing
drinks by sampling juices made from seasonal fruits (and thankfully
juice prices haven't been hit as badly by inflation yet). It'll
give you a glow no beauty product can!
In:
Putting your best foot forward
Out: Wrapping your feet in mummy-like trappings
We've always been a country in love with summer shoes - kohlapuris,
jewelled chappals, flip flops - since so many of us insist on wearing
them even in the dead of winter. But they're the perfect accompaniment
to a flowery lawn outfit and so this really is the time to get footloose.
Pedicures are a must to keep your feet looking great, and its also
time to stop using those pastel and nude polish shades and go over
the top: black, plum, hot pink and even yellow! (Though for those
of you working in corporate environs, this may not be a choice) |
