Wedding mix: Though Eid has passed us by, the fun hasn't actually come to a dead end; in fact it's only the beginning as the wedding season has made its way to town! And, of course weddings mean lots of mithai, lots of dancing and a dash of bhangra. Instep brings you some of the grooviest bhangra songs so that you can shake and move with the sound of the dhol.

'Jee Karda' - Singh Is Kinng
No doubt Singh Is Kinng has done groundbreaking business as a movie but its soundtrack has gained accolades as well. Where it had the mellow 'Teri Ore' and the Snoop Dog collaboration 'Singh Is Kinng', it also had the hip and happening 'Jee Karda' with the voices of Suzie Q and Labh Janjua. Labh Janjua is the same guy who lent his voice to Partner for 'Soni De Nakhre', 'Pyaar Karke Pachtaya' and 'Rabba Khair Kare'. And of course the music is by the very talented Pritam of Dhoom fame.

Jee Karda' was on constant rotation on television, making it extremely hard to miss. Who doesn't remember Katrina Kaif dancing in a pink mini skirt
and Akshay Kumar in his green turban with all the latkas and jhatkas?

The song will make you get to your feet and dance to the beat of it. And when you have the carefree lyrics attached to it, you are bound to move to 'Jee Karda'. The lyrics are infections: All my ladies going crazy/ with rhythm that the music's spinning its heating up the night/ Life's a party toh jee le tu khul ke jee le/ Kal kya hoga jo hona hai ho jaye.
So if you are thinking the same, then switch on to 'Jee Karda' and forget about everything else.

'Dhoor' - Manak-E

It was on a radio show that I heard Manak-E's 'Dhoor' and instantly loved it but due to my inability to understand Punjabi, I couldn't even grasp the singer's name or the song. Then it was during Akshay Kumar's performance in IIFA Awards that I heard him singing this song and thus began my quest to find it.
After a few searches I found this amazing song is by UK based artist Manak-E. I am sure a lot of people would remember this song from IIFA awards. Whether you understand Punjabi or not, the tune is so catchy that it will get you from the start. 'Dhoor' has Micheal Jackson's 'Billie Jean' tune in the start and the rest of the song is based on the basics of 'Billie Jean'.

This is definitely one song that you should have in your bhangra collection and is a must for any upcoming wedding in your house; the whole family will be grooving to the tune, really!

'Nachle' - Imran Khan

We have recently seen a lot of talent coming out from UK, especially in bhangra. Some of these artists are not touching upon the genre but are doing it hard-core like Jassi Sidhu, Malkit Singh or Sukhsinder Shinda. Amongst these big names, a Pakistani guy has climbed his way up to the desi UK charts - Imran Khan. He originally hails from Gujranwala and has made a position in nearly every disco and wedding in UK. Thanks to our local radio stations, this Pakistani guy has come into our homes with his track 'Nachle'.

If you haven't heard this one then you are really missing out a cool bhangra song that should be a fixture on a wedding playlist. The song starts with a mellow sound and then picks up pace compelling you to at least move your head, if you don't want to stand in the crowd and enjoy the beat. Be warned though: it will be a tough task not to dance to 'Nachle'!
