"These days I am listening to Jimi Hendrix, Steely Dan and BB King. My top five favourite songs are 'Little Wing' by Jimi Hendrix, 'Layla' (electric version) by Eric Clapton, 'Comfortably Numb' by Pink Floyd, 'God's Country' by U2 and 'Baker's Street' by Gerry Rafferty."

Jimi Hendrix is considered to be the greatest guitarist in the history of rock music and is an influence on several Pakistani musicians. The American jazz-rock band Steely Dan gained immense popularity during the swinging seventies and have sold more than 30 million albums worldwide. In March 2001 they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Eric Clapton was ranked fourth in Rolling Stone magazine's list of the '100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time' while Gerry Rafferty is a Scottish singer and songwriter who is most famous for the tune 'Baker's Street'.

"Kishore Kumar is one musician who I am always listening to, particularly when I am going somewhere in my car. My five most all-time favourite songs are: 'Tere Bina' from Guru (A.R. Rehman), 'Please Don't Stop the Music' and 'Umbrella' by Rihanna, 'Chingari Koi Bharkay' by Kishore Kumar, and 'Living on a Prayer' and 'Bed of Roses' by Bon Jovi."

Kishore Kumar was an Indian film playback singer and actor who is as popular today as he was during his lifetime. Along with Mukesh and Mohammed Rafi, he dominated Indian film playback music from the 1950s to the 1980s.

Barbadian singer-songwriter Rihanna's debut studio album, Music of the Sun was on the top ten of the Billboard 200 while Bon Jovi - fronted by Jon Bon Jovi - have sold over 120 million albums worldwide. The band scored big with Slippery When Wet (1986) and New Jersey (1988), which launched the band into global super stardom.

"The five songs these days, off the top of my head are, 'Hum Bekhudi Mein Tum Ko' by Mohammad Rafi and S.D.Burman, 'Tadapat Beete Din Rain' by K.L.Saigal, 'Why Should I Cry For You' by Sting, 'Hear Me Out' by Imogen Heap and 'Infinite Dreams' by Iron Maiden. Although it is very unfair to ask about the list because it keeps on changing but the sound track of Rang De Basanti composed by A.R.Rehman is what I am listening to all the time nowadays."

Mohammed Rafi was an Indian playback singer whose career spanned four decades while S.D. Burman was a famous composer who composed music for 100 movies.
In the past few decades, A. R. Rahman has emerged as one of India's most prolific composers, having worked on an Andrew Lloyd Webber musical as well as most notably winning two Oscars for the for the soundtrack of Slumdog Millionaire.

'Iris' remains to be an extremely popular song, years after it featured on the soundtrack of the Nicholas Cage-Meg Ryan starrer City of Angels.

Coldplay achieved worldwide fame with their single 'Yellow', followed by their debut album, Parachutes (2000), which was nominated for the Mercury Prize.

'Kheriyan De Naal' was the first single to be released off Shafqat Amanat Ali's first solo album Tabeer.
