Government flayed for tussle with press

LAHORE: THE Punjab PPP has said after destroying all the constitutional institution, the Nawaz Sharif government has now initiated its war against the press which is resisting fascism.

Provincial president Rao Sikandar Iqbal, in a press statement Friday, said the government action against the Jang group was a step towards eliminating an important organ of a democratic society. He said the government's justification to set up Military Trial Courts was a contempt of court, and if the MTC refused to hear the government prepared cases than there would be complete chaos in the country.

Commenting on the finance minister's statement that freezing of foreign currency accounts was a mistake, the Punjab president said Nawaz Sharif and his cronies must be forced to pay the losses incurred by the country.
