Amir Khan has taken a legal action against a fake video showcasing the actor promoting a political party.

As reported by the Hindustan Times, the 3 Idiots actor has not only lodged an FIR against the perpetrator but has also clarified that he has never in his life endorsed any political party.

Aamir Khan’s official spokesperson in his statement noted, “We are alarmed by the recent viral video alleging that Aamir Khan is promoting a particular political party. He would like to clarify that this is a fake video and totally untrue. He has reported the matter to various authorities related to this issue, including filing an FIR with the Cyber Crime Cell of the Mumbai Police.”

The statement further clarified that although the Laal Singh Chadha actor has never backed any political party, he urged Indians to show up to cast their votes during Lok Sabha elections.

“We want to clarify that Mr. Aamir Khan has never endorsed any political party throughout his 35-year career. He has dedicated his efforts to raising public awareness through Election Commission public awareness campaigns for many past elections. Mr. Khan would like to urge all Indians to come out and vote and be an active part of our electoral process," added the statement.

On the professional front, Amir Khan will be next seen in Sitare Zameen Per, which is a sequel to his previous film, Taare Zameen Per.
