An alleged trespasser was stopped by police on former US Vice President Kamala Harris's Malibu residence.
Eduardo Negrón, a spokesperson for Harris, said on Saturday, September 12, that the individual entered the property, where Harris and her husband, Doug Emhoff, live, but was stopped by security personnel before they could reach the house.

“Vice President Harris and Second Gentleman Emhoff were not present. They are grateful to the security and law enforcement personnel who responded swiftly," Negrón added.
The Malibu Lost Hills Sheriff's deputies responded to a suspicious person call at the residence at 10:30 p.m. on Friday, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said in a statement.
"When deputies arrived they made contact with the private security detail on the property," the department said. "The individual who was outside of the property upon our arrival was warned and advised by deputies to leave the premises and left voluntarily without incident."
Was the individual arrested at the scene?
According to the department, a trespassing report was taken, but no arrests were made linked to the incident.
Moreover, the Malibu Lost Hills deputies will increase patrols in the area as a precaution, the department said.
The incident at Harris' home comes after President Donald Trump revoked her US Secret Service protection last year.
A senior White House official who confirmed the news last August noted that vice presidents typically only get six months of protection after leaving office.
This is in accordance with a bill Congress passed in 2008 that cleared Secret Service details for former vice presidents, their spouses and their children under age 16 for up to six months, beginning after the vice president left office.
However, then-President Joe Biden signed a memorandum in January 2025 extending Kamala Harris' protection to 18 months.
