Kelce entered the season just 45 receiving yards behind Jason Witten for second place among tight ends. He needed only a handful of catches against Denver to make history, and he officially moved past Witten during the third quarter.
Kelce's second reception of the quarter pushed his career total to 13,067 receiving yards, giving him the second-most receiving yards by a tight end in NFL history.
Witten finished his legendary career with 13,046 receiving yards, meaning Kelce has now officially moved ahead of the former Dallas Cowboys star.
It is another remarkable accomplishment for Kelce, who entered the 2026 season already holding numerous NFL records and had accumulated 13,002 receiving yards through the end of the 2025 season.
Kelce has one name left to chase at the top of the tight end receiving-yards leaderboard, Tony Gonzalez.
Gonzalez finished his career with 15,127 receiving yards, leaving Kelce roughly 2,060 yards behind him after Monday night's milestone.
That is still a substantial gap that he is unlikely to close. The 36-year-old entered his 14th NFL season in 2026 and remains a major part of Patrick Mahomes' passing attack.
Kelce finished 2025 with 76 receptions for 851 yards and five touchdowns, and he remains Kansas City's all-time leader in receptions and receiving yards.
