During the 2023 Canadian Open in Toronto, Alcaraz was among several players who received handwritten messages as part of an initiative organized by Tennis Canada.

The Spaniard, who was only 20 at the time, said he enjoyed reading the messages and appreciated the support he was receiving.

"It's great to know all the love from the people. I read the messages that they write me on social media as well, in every platform and, of course, in the cards as well," Alcaraz said at the time. "Every day that I [went] into the locker room, I saw the cards. And for me, it's great to read it and know all the love that they have [for] me."

Andy Murray and Andrey Rublev also received messages from supporters during the tournament.
