Former England footballer Andros Townsend was involved in a bizarre accident during the warm-up ahead of his Thai League One match.
The Tottenham star plays for PT Prachuap in the Thai League, and was gearing up for his match against Pattani FC, when he got involved in a horrific accident.
What happened to Andros Townsend during warm-up?
Townsend was attempting an acrobatic backheel while jumping for the ball as a pitch roller was seen moving towards him.
Videos going viral show the footballer appearing to be struck and briefly run over by the grounds vehicle.
The roller appears to collide with the 35-year-old before passing over him as he lies on his side, following which the driver gets out of the vehicle and attempts to tilt it to one side, allowing Townsend to free himself.
Despite the shocking incident, Townsend reportedly only sustained minor injuries and was able to participate in the game.
He came off the bench in the 93rd minute, replacing Jesper Nyholm, as PT Prachuap secured a 3-0 victory over Pattani.
Andros reacts to the pitch roller incident
Townsend, who won 13 caps for England, kept the matter lighthearted as he reacted to the incident on his Instagram.
Referencing one of his recent posts in which he compared a Thai away trip with previous visits to Stoke's Bet365 Stadium, he wrote, "It turns out Stoke away wasn't so bad after all. Swipe to see why."

Townsend also shared a fan drawing of the incident, with the text that read, "Trust me", alongside laughing emojis.
