Jonathan Taylor Thomas has been arrested on allegations of public intoxication and resisting a deputy, according to authorities.
As reported by TMZ, the Home Improvement star was detained after reportedly resisting an officer in Westlake Village, California, Monday.
According to the court records, Thomas was arrested at the Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff’s Station and booked shortly afterward.
He was released more than 34 hours later. The driver’s identity and whether they were detained remain unknown.
The former child actor was reportedly a passenger in a vehicle that police pulled over, according to law enforcement sources who spoke to the outlet.
Deputies reportedly instructed Thomas to remain inside the vehicle, but he allegedly got out anyway.
Thomas was also reportedly drunk at the time of the incident.
Law enforcement told PEOPLE, "The driver was being detained for DUI investigation. Sometime during the investigation, Mr. Taylor decided he would exit the vehicle. Deputies told him to sit back down in the vehicle.”
They added, "He was uncooperative with them, failed to follow orders, and obstructed the investigation, so he was arrested for obstruction, and he was arrested for drunk in public."
It is reported that when authorities attempted to detain Thomas for public intoxication and obstruction, he allegedly "kicked a deputy in the stomach.”
The DA’s office has yet to file charges against Thomas, but prosecutors could still bring charges after reviewing the case, provided they do so within the legal time limit.

Thomas has largely stayed out of the spotlight in recent years, though Home Improvement co-star Patricia Richardson shared a photo with him and Taran Noah Smith in July.
Before that, Thomas was last photographed publicly in 2021 while walking his dogs.
Between 2013 and 2015, Thomas briefly returned to television through several appearances on Tim Allen’s Last Man Standing, where he reunited with his former Home Improvement co-stars.
