2025 Met Gala
For the 2025 Met Gala, Hamilton chose something of a modern dandy himself and teamed up with Grace Wales Bonner for a thoughtful sartorial exploration of identity.
Wales Bonner fashioned Hamilton an ivory suit with a cropped jacket, high-waisted trousers with a tuxedo stripe, coattails, a white bow tie, and an embroidered ivory sash hanging from his waistband.
2024 Met Gala
Of his sleek, monochromatic Burberry look at 2024 year’s Met Gala, which had a dress code of The Garden of Time, Hamilton revealed that he took inspiration from the first Black gardeners in the UK, namely John Ystumllyn, who became the first Black gardener in Wales after being abducted from Africa and brought to live in Wales as a servant.
Hamilton’s custom Burberry necklace with pavé diamonds, Alex Moss custom ring and floral Briony Raymond earrings were a sparkling way to honour Ystumllyn’s work and also to symbolise the terribly agony of slavery.
2019 Met Gala
In the 2019 Met Gala Hamilton made a striking appearance in Alex’s custom-made diamond Astra pins.
These exquisite pieces, crafted from platinum and featuring white diamonds encasing black diamond centers, complemented his tailored ensemble by Tommy Hilfiger, styled by Alicia Sereno.
