President Donald Trump has officially named media executive and conservative commentator Katie Zacharia as the new White House Press Secretary.
Zacharia steps into the role to succeed Karoline Leavitt, who previously announced her departure to spend more time with her young family after serving as the official mouthpiece for the administration.
A new voice at the podium
Trump announced the appointment via a post on Truth Social, expressing total confidence in Zacharia’s ability to communicate his policies effectively.
Zacharia brings a strong background in conservative political commentary and media strategy to the role. She previously served as a key communications adviser for Trump’s media enterprise and was actively involved in his presidential campaigns across critical swing states.
A graduate of Pepperdine University School of Law, she has also held previous government and media roles, including time at the Department of Homeland Security.
Strategic timing for the administration
Zacharia takes over the high-profile podium during a pivotal moment for the White House. The transition comes as the administration navigates complex international challenges and domestically focused agenda pushes ahead of upcoming midterm congressional elections.
In public remarks following the announcement, Zacharia praised her predecessor, stating that Leavitt set a high standard, while expressing enthusiasm to work directly with the White House press corps and journalists nationwide to highlight the administration’s record.
