Kiara Advani’s candid reflections on her postpartum experience are bringing attention to the emotional side of new motherhood, a transition that can be as overwhelming as it is life-changing.

During a May 2025 conversation with Raj Shamani, the Kabir Singh actress reflected on the profound impact of becoming a mother.

She revealed that after Saraayah’s birth, she felt like an entirely different person.

Advani said, "Everything changes in you as a personality. I feel that before and after becoming a mum, I’m a completely different person in every way. And I’ve come to terms with it also. There’s so much more purpose in everything you do."

She further revealed that motherhood had reshaped her decision-making process.

She remarked, "I’m constantly thinking of leading an example for my daughter. What would my daughter feel if I did this?"

The Toxic 2 actress encouraged mothers to speak openly about their postpartum experiences, noting that every journey is different.

After welcoming Saraayah, Advani developed an unexpected skin problem that initially worried her but eventually became something she learned to accept.

Reflecting on the experience, she said: “Postpartum should be something that’s spoken of much more. Everyone's journey is different postpartum. It hits you in different ways physically and emotionally.”

"It’s such a new world. It’s taken me six months!" Kiara said, explaining that mothers can become so focused, adding, "You realise you’re doing so much for everyone else, you forget about the relationship you need to have with yourself, the things you need to tell yourself."
