In an interview with Extra TV, Perry discussed her decision to support Gomez at the fourth annual Rare Impact Fund gala and the significance of the event.
Perry replied that she wanted to back Selena and “all the good work that she’s doing.”
The Last Friday Night singer emphasized that the initiative’s impact extends beyond one evening, stressing the importance of women with influential platforms using their reach for good.
“I think it’s so important for us ladies,” she noted, to use their visibility for something good.
She mentioned that they hold “a huge spotlight and such big opportunities.”
“Mental health matters,” Perry stated.
She also highlighted the shared mission of their foundations, explaining that she was keen to learn more about Gomez’s initiative.
For the event, Perry served looks in a plunging, cut-out black dress with cream bow detailing as she attended Selena Gomez’s fourth annual Rare Impact Fund Benefit at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles on Wednesday.
She later joined fellow guests inside the venue, including actress America Ferrera and Selena Gomez’s husband, Benny Blanco.
