Raveena Tandon responds to suicide rumors: ‘What’s the big deal?’
Raveena Tandon to-date gets probed about engagement with Akshay Kumar

Raveena Tandon has at last broken silence on rumors regarding her attempting suicide after a much-publicized breakup with Akshay Kumar in the late 90s.

While sitting for a Mojo Story interview recently, host Barkha Dutt asked if news about the star’s self-destruction was true, which ultimately led her to adopting two girls, Pooja and Chhaya.

“There was absolutely no control on the kind of stories that would go around. The day I got my two girls home, they were not getting the life they deserved,” Raveena responded while dismissing the allegation.

She added, “This was something that was happening closer to home. I decided to take charge. The day I turned 21, I brought them in. I couldn’t watch it unfold in front of me and not do anything.”

Before this, Barkha had inquired whether the celebrity still laughs at the theories that spun after her engagement with the superstar was called off.

“Yes, what’s the big deal? So many relationships break up, people move on. I don’t understand. I was absolutely fine. The bigger fuss was made in the media because they wanted to sell their magazines,” she quipped.

In the same interview, Raveena acknowleged that her adopted daughters were mostly raised by her parents and that she has remained friends with Akshay.

Both the stars will be seen sharing screen space for the first time after 20 years in the upcoming 2024 film, Welcome to the Jungle.
