Hira Tareen’s life is seemingly in danger following her negative portrayal of Mehreen in the drama serial Ishq Murshid.
The Hasrat actress appeared as a guest on the YouTube show Something Haute, expressing her frustration about the death threats she has been receiving.
“I have been facing backlash due to my negative role in the drama,” Tareen said.
She added,” Some people in the country struggle to separate actors from their roles.”
“Although despite all the negativity some positive comments were appreciative of my performance.”
Regarding the death threats, Hira Tareen revealed, “Receiving messages implying consequences if I were to venture outside without proper security measures.”
Hira further noted, “The threatening accounts and threats had no followers or photos but I am shocked how people are unable to understand the distinction between actors and characters they portray.”
At the same time, Hira Tareen remained grateful for all the outpouring of support from netizens alike.
Ishq Murshid consists of a wide cast ensemble ranging from Bilal Abbas, Dur-e-Fishan Saleem to Hira Tareen.
