Isha Ambani's custom Met Gala look took 10,000 hours to make: DETAILS

Isha Ambani, daughter of Indian billionaire tycoon Mukesh Ambani, made a grand entry at the iconic Met Gala 2024, happening today, May 6, in New York!

The billionaire heiress showed up and showed out at New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute Benefit Gala in a custom Rahul Mishra ensemble that turned heads as she posed for pre-event photos.

Isha was styled by top Indian celeb stylist, Anaita Shroff Adajania, who took to Instagram to share details of Isha’s look and her styling inspiration behind it; the floral creation paid homage to the Met Gala’s theme for 2024, The Garden of Time.

Sharing stunning photos of Isha wearing the opulent Rahul Mishra creation, Anaita noted in a lengthy caption, “Our garden of time. Isha is wearing a bespoke hand-embroidered couture sari gown from Indian designer Rahul Mishra.”

Anaita further revealed that the bespoke dress, that took ‘over 10,000 hours’ to complete, is supposed to ‘depict nature’s glorious and bountiful lifecycle’.

“This look embraces sustainability by incorporating elements from Rahul’s past collections. Delicate samples of flowers, butterflies, and dragonflies were meticulously integrated from the archives into the design, via distinct applique and embroidery techniques, such as Fareesha, Zardozi, Nakshi, and Dabka, as well as French knots,” Anaita further explained.

Anaita styled up Isha’s look with a Swadesh clutch featuring the rare art form of Indian miniature painting from Jaipur artist Hari Narain Marotia. Her jewellery, including parrot earrings, a flower choker, and lotus bracelets, were all sourced from designer Viren Bhagat.

It is pertinent to note that the Met Gala is a highly sought after invite-only event, where those invited pay anywhere from $75,000 for one ticket or $350,000 for a table.
