Madonna shatters record with massive turnout at her tour's farewell show

Madonna concluded the Celebration Tour with a free concert on Copacabana Beach in Rio de Janeiro

Madonna left an indelible mark on the music world as she drew an astonishing crowd of 1.6 million in Rio de Janeiro at her Celebration Tour last show.

The Frozen songstress announced in March that she would be performing a historic free concert at Copacabana Beach for her final Celebration Tour show.

On the night, 1.6 million people witnessed the pop superstar's Celebration Tour farewell show.

Madonna kicked off her show with her 1998 song Nothing Really Matters.

She also performed on songs, including Like a Virgin, Hung Up and Like a Prayer and was also joined on stage by Brazilian artists Anitta and Pabilo Vittar.

According to the AP News, the Hung Up songstress started her show by telling the crowd, “Here we are in the most beautiful place in the world. This place is magic.”

It is pertinent to mention here that Madonna began her long-awaited Celebration Tour at London's O2 Arena in October with an electrifying two-hour.

During her show, she also discussed her return to the stage after being hospitalised last year due to a dangerous bacterial infection.

For the unversed, the Celebration Tour was the twelfth concert tour by Madonna.
