Popular BBC DJ Trevor Nelson has shared that he underwent “a very serious surgery” after being diagnosed with a brain tumor. The 62-year-old radio legend stepped back from his presenting duties earlier this summer to address his health, leaving fans concerned.

In a message to followers, he revealed, “it was discovered that I had a brain tumor” and admitted, “as you can imagine I was shocked. In fact, my world was turned upside down.”

Surgery declared a success

Despite the initial shock, the procedure was a success. Nelson explained that “a few weeks later, I had a very serious surgery” and reassured everyone that “thankfully, it ‘went incredibly well’.”

Over the past month, he has been quietly resting at home alongside necessary post-operative care.

Road to full recovery

The broadcaster noted he is recovering quickly and staying active. He shared, “I can only tell you the truth and the truth is, I feel great right now.”
