Roger Federer gave a very honest answer when asked if Novak Djokovic is the greatest tennis player of all time.
According to Give Me Sport, the legendary Swiss player returned to action at Flushing Meadows earlier this week after several years since his final US Open appearance. Federer played Andy Roddick in a singles match before later pairing up with John McEnroe to take on Roddick and Andre Agassi.
The 45-year-old was asked about Djokovic before and after the event, and he was more than happy to praise the Serbian, especially for his longevity in the game.
There will always be questions and comparisons regarding the two.
With a combined 44 Grand Slam titles, questions have been raised over who is the most dominant player the sport has ever seen. Throw Rafael Nadal into the mix as well, and it's arguably the hardest debate in all of sport.

Federer was asked how he feels when people call his former rival “the GOAT” and he was very honest about it.
He replied, "That's OK. He has done incredible. It's amazing what he has been able to do, before later going on to discuss how impressive it is that the Serb is still playing at such a high level.
Federer said, "And still now. I would have thought that maybe he was getting to a place where all of a sudden we would see a much bigger decline.”
“But last year he reached the semis of the four Grand Slams and then again this year again very strong. It’s fascinating to see how he is able to keep himself in shape, and he is playing less and less but still able to come through,” he added.
Djokovic has one goal in mind and that is to win at least one more Grand Slam title and stand alone at the top of the all-time singles list with 25 titles, as he currently shares the record with Margaret Court.
