In a surprise partnership, Netflix subscribers received early streaming access at 3:00 PM ET. “Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look will premiere on Netflix before launching globally,” announced Rockstar Games ahead of the broadcast.
The early window gave millions of viewers an uninterrupted first look at protagonists Lucia and Jason navigating an intense criminal plot.
YouTube premiere and public access
Six hours after its streaming launch, the showcase moved to public platforms at 9:00 PM ET. YouTube servers saw massive traffic as non-subscribers rushed to watch the high-definition footage.
The public launch confirmed that all footage was “captured entirely in-game on PlayStation 5.”
