Keenan Allen was arrested overnight on drunk driving charges just hours after making his Indianapolis Colts debut in preseason Week 3.
About Keenan Allen's charges
As reported by FOX 59, Allen was arrested for alleged DUI in downtown Indianapolis around 1 a.m. Sunday morning.
The 34-year-old was arrested on preliminary charges of DWI and DWI endangering a person, both of which are misdemeanours.
"According to an IMPD police report and jail booking, a 34-year-old Keenan Allen, matching the description of the Colts player was arrested for DUI in downtown Indianapolis around 1 a.m.," Justin Powell reported.
The arrest was also confirmed by other outlets, as The Athletic's James Boyd penned, "Colts WR Keenan Allen was arrested Sunday morning and charged with two misdemeanors for DUI, according to online jail records."
Keenan Allen signs with the Colts
Allen was officially signed by the Colts on August 19, on a one-year deal. The contract is worth $8.32 million, including $2.8 million guaranteed at signing.
The Colts played their final preseason game against the Detroit Lions at 1 p.m. ET on Saturday, and it was Allen's first contest with Indianapolis.
Allen finished the game with one catch for 24 yards.
Will Keenan Allen face suspension over the alleged DUI?
Due to his arrest, Allen could face a suspension from the league depending on how the legal situation plays out.
According to the NFL's police for substances of abuse, a typical suspension for a first-offence DUI absent aggravating circumstances is two games.

Following his arrest, the Colts issued a brief statement, noting, "We are aware of the incident involving Keenan Allen last night. We are in the process of gathering more information and have no further comment at this time."
A former third-round pick of the then-San Diego Chargers back in 2013, Allen is entering his 14th season in the NFL.
He spent all but one of his 13 seasons in the league with the Los Angeles Chargers, who he played for in 2025. Allen also played for the Chicago Bears in 2024.
He has been voted to six Pro Bowls in total and was the 2017 AP Comeback Player of the Year.
