Pokémon GO Fest 2026: Mega Finale is transforming up to be the biggest Pokémon GO events of the year, bringing back Armored Mewtwo alongside Mega Mewtwo X and Mega Mewtwo Y.
The mega event is set to bring a variety of the latest Mega Evolution attacks, rotating habitats, and an extensive raid schedule.
Armored Mewtwo returns after six years
The biggest highlight is the return of Armored Mewtwo that hasn’t appeared in Pokémon GO since 2020, which is set to make a return during Mega Finale on September 5 and 6, 2026, appearing in five-star raids from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. local time.
However, Shiny Armored Mewtwo will remain inaccessible. Its comeback still gives the latest players and collectors who missed its previous appearance another chance to obtain the rare Pokémon.
Mega Mewtwo X and Y take center stage
Mega Mewtwo X and Mega Mewtwo Y will headline the event’s Mega Raids. Mega Mewtwo X will be featured on Saturday, September 5, while Mega Mewtwo Y takes over on Sunday, September 6.
Moreover, players will encounter Pokémon via eight rotating habitats, with two habitats, which is set to appear twice every day.
New Mega evolution attacks
Mega Finale is set to launch additional Charged Attacks for eligible Mega-Evolved Pokémon, with their power increasing alongside Mega Levels.
New moves include Seed Bomb+ for Mega Chesnaught, Mystical Fire+ for Mega Delphox, Surf+ for Mega Greninja, Volt Tackle+ for Mega Raichu X, Zap Cannon+ for Mega Raichu Y, Drill Peck+ for Mega Skarmory, and Outrage+ for Mega Dragonite.
Mega Ascension event details
The Mega Ascension event is set to run from August 31 through September 4, enabling the anticipating players to gather Mega Energy before the finale.
Moreover, players can select Chespin, Fennekin, or Froakie through branching Timed Research.
With the return of Armored Mewtwo, the latest Mega attacks, rotating raids, and unlimited Remote Raids during September 5–6, Mega Finale provides a range of both longtime newcomers and players.
