David Beckham shared a warm birthday wish for son Romeo Beckham after an emotional tribute to Lionel Messi.
Taking to Instagram on Tuesday, September 1, Beckham penned a heartfelt birthday tribute for Romeo on his 24th birthday.
The Inter Miami co-founder wrote, “Happy Birthday, mate. We love you so much, and I'm so proud of you for all you are as a person, sweet, kind, and just an amazing young man... Love you so, so much have the best day ever you deserve it.”
He also shared some blasts from the past picture of the former footballer. The post also sparked SPICE girl Victoria Beckham’s reaction, who expressed her love for the son in the comment section.
The fashion house Victoria Beckham owner said, “We love you so much, Romeo.”
The post came hours after Beckham paid tribute to Messi, who announced his retirement from international football.

Messi, who plays for Beckham’s football club, Inter Miami, on Monday, August 31, ended his career with Argentina.
The 39-year-old made this decision weeks after losing the 2026 FIFA World Cup finals to Spain and days after his father's death.
Beckham, who is one of the biggest admirers of Messi wrote on Instagram, “This is the moment we get to look back on & realise how grateful we were to witness the greatness of a young kid with a dream... Leo you have been a credit to yourself , your family , your friends and your country...”
“Leading by example and creating inspiration for millions of children not just in Argentina but around the whole world... "Leo, you delivered the greatest gift to your country, and for that, your legacy will live forever... Congratulations on all you achieved for Argentina,” the former English professional added.
The eight-time Ballon d’Or award winner officially joined Beckham’s club on July 15, 2023, and after a contract extension in October 2025, Messi will stay at Inter Miami through the end of the Major League Soccer (MLS) season.
