Andy Williams, former guitarist for Every Time I Die and professional wrestler, has passed away at the age of 48.
The news of his death came after it was reported that the wrestler collapsed while performing in a wrestling match at an event in Pennsylvania on Saturday, September 5.
What happened to Andy Williams?
Andy Williams had just competed in a tag-team match with his wrestling partner Jesse Guilmette at an Enjoy Wrestling event at Mr. Small's Theater in Millvale and collapsed as soon as it was over.
He was given CPR at the venue and rushed to a local hospital, where he passed away.
The wrestling company, Enjoy Wrestling, sent everyone home after Andy collapsed and ended the show.
According to their social media accounts, Saturday night's show was part of the company's final run of shows.
Andy Williams' music career
A founding member of Every Time I Die, Andy and his bandmates went on to become the most influential names in 21st century metal core.
He served as the bands rhythm guitarist throughout their entire time together until their sudden parting in 2022.
Andy Williams' wrestling career
Andy made his wrestling debut on the independent wrestling circuit in 2015 taking on the moniker of "The Butcher" and forming a tag team with Jesse "The Blade" Guilmette.
The duo received international recognition upon appearances with powerhouse company All Elite Wrestling from 2019 onwards.
Andy continued wrestling singles matches while The Blade was sidelined by a serious back injury. His final AEW appearance came on the February 22, 2025 edition of Collision, in a match with Gabe Kidd.
Their contracts subsequently expired in June, ending a run of more than six years with the promotion.
Williams had remained active on the independent circuit. Last month, he faced Josh Barnett, one of the figures who helped him during his development as a wrestler, at PRODUCE Volume 3 in Brooklyn.
