Thirteen-year-old Chinese swimming sensation Yu Zidi has claimed a third gold at the Asian Games, completing a historic individual sweep in emphatic fashion.
The teenage prodigy has taken the competition by storm, consistently outperforming older, world-class opposition while continuing to smash longstanding records along the way.
Record-breaking gold medals
Yu’s dominant streak began when she surged to victory in the women’s 200m butterfly setting a Games-record time of 2:05.08. She followed that triumph by claiming gold in the 200m individual medley, clocking in at 2:06.10.
That performance broke the Asian record and set a new World Junior record, cementing her status as one of global swimming’s brightest rising stars.
She then completed the triple by powering to gold in the 400m individual medley in a Games-record 4:28.56.

Having already secured two gold medals, Yu turned her attention to her remaining event and sealed a historic third victory sweeping all three of her individual races in Games-record times
