Rod Stewart is gearing up for his one last hurrah!
Weeks after calling off his concerts due to a major heart procedure, the 81-year-old British singer-songwriter made fans emotional by announcing his farewell tour, The Final Encore Tour, for 2027.
Taking to his Instagram handle on Monday, September 28, the Have You Ever Seen the Rain crooner shared a video announcement and an image featuring tour dates and venues.
“Well, here we go… one last time! Come and see me on my The Final Encore Tour for one more round of rock ’n’ roll. I’m really looking forward to it,” he captioned.
In his video message, Stewart said, “Ladies and gentlemen, after much deliberation and sadness, I have to announce next year will be my last tour ever, ever, ever. I’m not retiring, but this will be the last rock and roll tour.”
He continued, “I wanna thank you for everything you’ve given me, and hopefully I’ve given you something in return,” before taking to his piano and singing, “Please come out and see me on the tour. It’s gonna be great!”
The legendary singer’s announcement comes weeks after he underwent a coronary stent procedure and was advised by medical experts to take time away from performing.
Rod Stewart health setbacks over the years
The Sailing hitmaker has suffered several significant health setbacks over the years.
Nearly three decades ago in 2000, he underwent surgery for a cancerous thyroid tumor removal and later had to retrain his throat muscles to sing.
In 2017, Stewart was diagnosed with prostate cancer, and after two years of challenging battle, he was finally free from the disease.
However, nearly a year later, the singer once again faced a major health issues which required him to undergo knee replacement and ankle-fusion surgeries.

The British singer recently suffered renewed health struggles, when he battled a sinus infection, respiratory infection, laryngitis and vocal strain, which forced him to axe or postpone several of his concerts.
While performing in Utah in June, Rod Stewart became severely winded and nearly fainted on stage, with doctors diagnosing underlying heart issue.
He then underwent a coronary stent procedure in August and called off the remainder of his 2026 tour while recovering.
