Elon Musk has been accused of being hostile towards his daughter, Vivian Jenna Wilson, who is transgender, after she came out.
The Tesla founder's first wife, Justine Wilson, has split the beans about the rift between Elon and their daughter in a new documentary about the billionaire.

Justine and Elon tied the knot in 2000, and the pair divorced in 2008. The SpaceX chief's ex-wife is one of the key subjects interviewed in Alex Gibney's new documentary, Musk, which is currently available in selected theatres and will be released in the US nationwide on October 16.
In the doc, Justine, who is the mother of Elon's five children, said that his difficult relationship with Vivan started when she was young.
"She is extremely strong-willed," Justine said in Musk of the 22-year-old model and activist. "Elon and I had five kids and the one who was most openly defiant was Jenna [Vivian’s middle name]."

After Vivian came out as trans, Justine shared that Musk told her to tell Vivian that "I'll always love her" before removing her off her health insurance the next day.

He and Vivian have criticised each other publicly in recent years, with Elon attacked his daughter's trans identity.
While discussing his relationship with their daughter, Justine talks in Gibney's doc about the "pain" Vivian felt after Musk posted on X that he had lost her to the "woke mind virus".
Justine noted that Elon never tries to "repair things", adding, "If a relationship ruptures, then it ruptures," and that he treated Vivian's transition like the "death of a child".
Vivian drops father's name after coming out
Vivian, a model and activist who dropped her father's famous last name in 2022, made clear her split with her dad over artificial intelligence during an interview with PEOPLE in September.
The 22-year-old came out as a transgender woman in 2020 and legally changed her name in 2022.
