Russian forces have stepped up attacks on facilities linked to major American brands operating in Ukraine including Coca-Cola, McDonald’s PepsiCo and Oreo maker Mondelez.

The strikes involve drones and missiles and have damaged production sites and warehouses in recent months.

In early September 2026, a Russian drone hit a Coca-Cola production facility near Kyiv in the Brovary area. No workers were injured but the plant suffered damage.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky described the attack as a clear signal to the United States. He noted that Russians knew it was an American enterprise and were deliberately targeting it with Shahed drones.

Later that months on September 25, a drone strike damaged a warehouse used by a McDonald’s logistics partner in the Kyiv region. McDonald’s Ukraine confirmed the damage and said restaurants are now offering a reduced menu because of supply issues.

In late August, a PepsiCo production facility in the Mykolaiv region was also damaged, with no casualties reported. Mondelez facilities linked to Oreo and other brands have faced earlier strikes as well.

American business leaders speak out

Andy Hunder, president of the American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine, said Russian missiles and drones keep hitting these sites. He called it a direct message that American businesses are being targeted. “We’re not seeing any response from the White House,” Hunder told reporters.

White House response stays quiet

While the Trump administration has publicly pressed Ukraine on other matters, it has not strongly condemned these specific attacks on US-linked companies.

The pattern of strikes on American brands continues amid the wider war, raising concerns among business groups about the safety of investments and operations in Ukraine.
