Chris Pratt has confirmed that he will reprise his beloved Marvel character, Star-Lord, although fans may have to wait to see the interstellar hero back on screen.
Initially, the 47-year-old actor portrayed Peter Quill, recognised as Star-Lord, in 2014’s Guardians of the Galaxy. Since then, he has appeared in two sequels, two Avengers films and Thor: Love and Thunder.
While conversing on The Playlist’s Bingeworthy podcast, The Terminal List alum confirmed that discussions with Marvel Studios executives Kevin Feige and Lou D’Esposito are underway to mark a return of the iconic character.
Pratt stated, “I have a great relationship with Kevin and Lou, and there have been both ongoing conversations about how we make good on that promise and also hard action taken to make sure that we make good on that promise.”
“So yeah, you’ll see Star-Lord again, which is very exciting, but I’m not at liberty to say when that’s going to be, but he’s not going anywhere,” he added.
Star-Lord last appeared in 2023’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. The film’s post-credits message hinted at his return, but Marvel has yet to announce a specific project or release date for the character’s comeback.
Previously, Pratt revealed his plans for Peter Quill during an appearance on the Happy Sad Confused podcast in January.
He revealed that he had already pitched an idea to Feige about the character’s future.
Furthermore, the Everwood alum described the idea, stating, “I personally have a really strong vision of what I would want him to do.”
Although Pratt remains unlisted among the announced cast members of the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday, his absence does not confirm that Star-Lord will be excluded from future Marvel projects.
With Avengers: Secret Wars also around the corner, fans are anticipated for further updates about the character’s next adventure.
