Art of Play response to Kelly Clarkson's accusation
Following the incident, Art of Play released several statements, with one of the shop's co-owners Adam Rubin saying that the incident was quite unexpected for the shop.
"If this tweetstorm had not happened, we wouldn't have realized there was a negative interaction in the shop; it was that undramatic," he told New York magazine in an interview published October 13.
He added, "We treated her like a normal person, but apparently that didn’t live up to her expectations."
