Ed Sheeran calls India ‘a vibrant country’: ‘people are so excited’

Ed Sheeran, who is currently enjoying his best time in India during his ongoing +-=/x (Mathematics Tour), got candid about his feelings for the country.

In a conversation with India Today, the Shape of You hit maker specified the reason of performing in India, noting, “I really feel the love here, in India. Sometimes you can play in places and people can be very subdued. Like, even if they are feeling the vibe inside them, you can never read how people feel.”

Ed Sheeran went on to express, "I have played in certain countries where people have a subdued reaction, but here, in India, it’s a vibrant country. People are so excited! I have the same personality, so I like that."

He added, "Indians grew up learning so many dance moves while we just learned Macarena. The 'lightbulb move' is the only Indian dance I've managed to learn."

In response to a question regarding his favourite Indian film he said, “RRR. It’s mental. It’s an incredible film.”

Ed Sheeran will be performing on March 16, 2024.

The highlight of Ed Sheeran’s pre-concert days in India was him recreating the iconic open arms pose of Shah Rukh Khan with the actor himself.

In a video, which went viral on the internet, Shah Rukh could be seen teaching the Perfect crooner his signature pose.

Ed Sheeran also met Bollywood celebrities like Armaan Malik, with whom he dances on Telugu track ButtaBomma, renowned director Farah Khan, actors Rakul Preet and Ayushman Khurrana.
