KUJ seminar
KARACHI: The Karachi Union of Journalists (KUJ) is organising a seminar on Monday (today) on the occasion of International Human Rights Day at the Karachi Press Club (KPC). KUJ President, Shamim-ur-Rahman, said the seminar would be held to discuss issues pertaining to the media people in the light of human rights day. The title of the seminar is “Human Rights Day and Press Freedom”. Noted trade unionist, Minhaj Barna, will chair the seminar and noted journalists and human rights activists will speak on the occasion. Seminar is organised as part of ongoing of journalists protests agaisnt restrictions imposed on media and closure of private TV channels.Police officer killed: A police sub-Inspector was shot dead in North Nazimabad police limits. SP North Nazimabad, Naeem Ahmed Sheikh, said that deceased SI Ijaz Shah was moving towards his house and when he reached near Board Office Chowrangi, some unidentified armed men sprayed him with bullets. The deceased was posted at the Taimuria police station and was investigating the NED couple murder case.
