Russia's air defence systems destroyed 17 drones launched by Ukraine over its territory.

As reported by Reuters, a regional official confirmed that the attack was aimed at an oil storage facility in the Kaluga region.

The defense ministry, via Telegram messaging app on Sunday, reported that three drones launched by Ukraine were shot down over the Kaluga region, located to the south of Moscow.

Vladislav Shapsha, regional governor of Kaluga, said the drones fell near an oil depot near the town of Lyudinovo.

Shapsha said in a statement on Telegram noting, "There were no casualties or damage."

The defense ministry shared that three drones were taken down in Kaluga, while nine were destroyed in Bryansk, three in Kursk, and two in Belgorod regions.

However Russia often being tight-lipped about the extent of attacks on its territory or infrastructure.
