Alia Bhatt’s biographical crime drama Gangubai Kathiawadi recently screened at the Areo Theatre in Los Angeles.
The director of the masterpiece, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, graced the special screening with a peek into his upcoming web series, Heeramandi.
American Cinematheque’s Aero Theatre in Los Angeles held a screening of the 2022 famed film Gangubai Kathiawadi which starred Alia Bhatt in the titular role.
Bhansali Productions offered a glimpse in the prestigious event through a bunch of pictures which saw a packed audience glued to the screens.

During the special screening event, Sanjay Leela gave a live speech on the strong portrayal of female characters.
“On strong female characters in my films, yes, we come from a land where we worship the goddess. I have seen some very, very strong women all my life. Women need to be heard, women need to be seen, and their stories need to be told. They are the creators of mankind. We are all born to be women.”
Alia Bhatt’s Gangubai Kathiawadi revolved on the life of Gangubai Harjeevandas, a movie that released in theatres on February 25, 2022.
