Queen Mary, King Frederik’s ‘frostiness’ laid bare amid affair rumours

King Frederik and Queen Mary's 'forlorn' body language amid affair rumours has been noted by experts

Queen Mary and King Frederik of Denmark seem to have a particularly frosty demeanor around each other, months after an affair scandal rocked the Danish monarchy, a body language expert has claimed.

The King and Queen are currently on a summer holiday aboard the Daneborg ship, where they also celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary, but body language expert Judi James says the couple is putting up a united front for the public amid underlying problems.

The Daily Mail reported that according to James, Frederik and Mary appeared ‘stern-faced’ as they disembarked in Denmark and met Queen Sonja and King Harald.

“Arriving on a boat in Oslo we can see Mary back to her rather cooler facial expression with her eye-direction staring out into the distance rather than returning her husband’s glance,” James pointed out.

She added: “He (King Frederik) looks forlorn here, with one brow curled upward and the other lowered in a frown while his eye expression appears downcast and his lips barely pull into a royal smile.”

James further shared: “Mary’s authentic smile and more tactile behaviours when meeting the Norwegian royals only seems to add to the idea that she was looking cooler with her husband again.”

This comes just months after King Frederik was caught in a frenzy of news reports suggesting that he had an extra-marital affair, after he was reportedly spotted with Mexican socialite Genoveva Casanova in Madrid last November.
