Ilona Maher swaps custom pins with ’iconic’ Simone Biles in viral clip

The USA olympians have heartwarming moment at the 2024 Paris Olympics

Ilona Maher and “iconic” Simone Biles are going viral for their custom pin exchange.

Ilona, who won the bronze medal for American rugby team, posted a video of the sweet exchange on social media on August 1.

She called the gymnastic gold medalist “iconic” before introducing her.

“So we all know iconic Simone Biles. Simone Biles made her own custom pins, and my sisters made custom pins for me as well. So, I gave my custom pin to Simone, and she’s gonna give me hers,” the athlete said in the clip.

In the next shot, Simone gave the rugby player her custom pin.

Ilona responded with, “Yay! So exciting.” She captioned the post, “@Simone Biles my christmas gift @Olympics @Team USA @paris2024.”

Furthermore, the renowned athlete has been getting a lot of hate recently for being “overweight.”

She slammed down the haters who made rude comments about the rugby player’s weight.

“Hi, thank you for this comment. I think you were trying to roast me, but this is actually a fact. I do have a BMI of 30. Well, 29.3 to be exact,” Ilona said in a video which was posted last month.
