Govinda has broken his silence on affair allegations with Komal Rani Swarnkar.
Days after making a joint appearance with his Roopa costar at Lalbaug to mark Ganesh Chaturthi, the 62-year-old Indian actor issued a scathing statement as he addressed the affair claims made by his estranged wife, Sunita Ahuja.
Speaking with ANI, the Raja Babu star said, “I went to Lalbaugcha to pray for my film Roopa. Earlier, I visited temples with Karisma Kapoor, and it turned out to be good luck for me. My films were a big hit. I also went with Raveena Tandon and now with Rani Swarnkar. I prayed, as I am starting it again after a long time.”
He continued, “I have just started the film and there is already so much discussion about it. People are reacting and asking why there is so much discussion. I don’t know what people’s problem is if we are becoming famous.”
“It is not anyone’s fault. This is a very strategically planned movement. It will happen more. It was part of a plan to distance me from my family and then tarnish my image in society. They had tried this before, but they were never successful,” the Partner actor added.
Govinda wrapped up his remarks by expressing gratitude to God for always being there for him, adding that he had consistently kept his attention on his work.
He recalled how people often praised his decent and down-to-earth nature, and had even wondered how someone so simple could have entered showbiz. However, he stressed that their praise did not give them the right to comment on matters concerning his private life.
