Luka Doncic, who has been enjoying a spectacular run this season, will have to miss the rest of the Los Angeles Lakers' game with a Grade 2 strain of his left hamstring.

Doncic has played a significant part in driving the Lakers to the third spot in the Western Conference standings; however, he injured his leg during the team match against Oklahoma City on Thursday, which they lost.

The Lakers have just five games left before the postseason, starting Sunday at Dallas.

While Grade 2 hamstring strains require several weeks to recover, Doncic has prior experience with the strain. He missed four games right before the All-Star break with another left hamstring strain but returned to the lineup after the break.

The 27-year-old has been giving his all in his first full season with the Lakers.

He is averaging 33.5 points, 8.3 assists, and 7.7 rebounds per game and was named the NBA's Western Conference player for the month of March after securing 13 consecutive 30-point games.

Moreover, Doncic scored an impressive 600 points in March, becoming only the 10th player in the NBA to reach the milestone in a month.

Doncic is a leading contender to win the NBA scoring title; however, he has only played 64 games, leaving him one game short of meeting the 65-game threshold to be eligible for the NBA's biggest postseason awards.
