Sydney Sweeney – who has made her relationship official on Instagram with Scooter Braun on April 15th also received backlash last year in August after an old video of herself from 2019 got leaked.
Sydney Sweeney's previous controversy
Before the video, the actress featured in an advertisement campaign, in which she allegedly used words between "genes" and "jeans," sending the internet into a frenzy, as many dubbed her move as a political stance.
Around the same time, public voter records surfaced indicating Sydney was a registered Republican, as her firearms trainer Taran Tactical Innovations reshared a 2019 video of Sweeney skillfully shooting targets, which she had originally posted when training for an unspecified film role.
Despite the backlash, neither Sydney Sweeney nor her representatives have broken their silence over the emerging controversy.
