Meghan Markle’s true feelings on sending her children Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet to the UK schools have been laid bare.
Archie and Lilibet’s schooling in the United Kingdom recently became the center of attention after The Telegraph revealed that Meghan and Prince Harry are preparing to return to the UK, six years after quitting their royal duties.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are reportedly coming back for an “extended period of time” and are planning to enroll their children in the UK schools.
However, their education in Britain is reportedly something the As Ever founder is uncomfortable with, as suggested by her resurfaced past statement.
Since relocating to the US in 2020, the estranged royal couple have shared about their negative experiences living in the UK in several interviews and Harry’s scathing memoir, Spare.
One of such interviews dates back to 2022, when Meghan Markle opened up about her true feelings on Archie and Lilibet’s UK schooling during a conversation with Allison P. Davis at The Cut.
Speaking to the host, the Duchess revealed a major “problem” she had if her kids were receiving education in Britain.
“Earlier in our conversation about her goals for the life she’s creating here, she’d remarked upon how, if Archie were in school in the U.K., she’d never be able to do school pickup and drop-off without it being a royal photo call with a press pen of 40 people snapping pictures,” Davis wrote in the article quoting Meghan.
The former American actress also said, “Sorry, I have a problem with that. That doesn’t make me obsessed with privacy. That makes me a strong and good parent protecting my child.”
When are Prince Harry and Meghan Markle returning to UK?
Meghan Markle, Prince Harry, and their children are expected to return to the UK by the end of August 2026, with Archie and Lilibet kicking off their schooling in September.
